The Portrait Mode uses a 2x digital zoom on the main camera while the telephoto creates the depth map.

The other big boys (Apple and Samsung) do the same thing. There is no OPTICAL zoom at all on this phone. There is only digital zoom and two cams (a slightly wide and a near “normal” focal length).

All zooming is strictly digital. Anything from 1.1x to 1.9999x is digital zoom then if one continues to zoom (assuming good lighting etc.) the phone then switches to th long lenses cam (roughly 2x the focal length of the wide lens). Any other zooming beyond 2x is also digital. So there is absolutely no optical “zoom” on this phone. Same for Apple and Samsung etc.:-p. Thank you for your contributions.
